Your Heritage

Here at Rathmell Archaeology, our youthful enthusiasm for archaeology remains intact, our passion ever present and our desire to share this with others constant.

Archaeological remains offer a tangible, physical link with the past. They are a finite and non-renewable resource containing unique information about our past and the potential for an increase in future knowledge. Such remains are part of Scotland's identity and are valuable both for their own sake and for education and tourism. The remains are often very fragile and vulnerable to damage or destruction, care must therefore be taken to ensure that they are not needlessly destroyed. [Scottish Government]
